Who We Are
Complete Internet Consulting, Inc. dba InterFuzed™ is the brainchild of Bob and Chris Parker, a couple who has been together for nearly 15 years. After years of working for large companies who, for the most part, have treated us as simply disposable resources to further their bottom line then throw us away after it was no longer convenient to them for us to be around, we decided to take our decades of experience and form our own consulting company to provide quality services and products to small-to-medium businesses looking to get ahead on the Internet in a world where everyone seems to only be looking after themselves.
So the company was formed in 2008 to provide a complete range of Consulting and Contract services to customers who are looking for elegant yet inexpensive solutions to their needs.
Our Company Philosophy
We have some very basic guidelines for running our company, which may surprise many. Of course, they may not make us as rich as the founders of some of those other companies that you are familiar with on the Internet, who shall remain nameless here, but they are guidelines that WE can live with and hope will attract quality customers that will be satisfied with the results.
- We will be honest and up front with you from the very first contact. We don’t claim to know everything there is to know about the internet or running a business and we think someone who does is nuts. If we can’t do it, we will tell you so, and if at all possible, refer you to someone who can.
- We will always provide you with quality work for the best possible price. Honesty and integrity means charging customers only for the work provided and having realistic rates for that work. If a service is available for free on the internet already, then we’ll tell you that and offer to set it up for you for a reasonable fee, but we’re not going to charge you for something that you can get for yourself for free. That’s just not right, and we won’t stand for it.
- We won’t sell you something you don’t need. If it will help you and your business, and we really think it will improve your bottom line, then we will recommend it. We will not, however, sell you something and feed you a line of (you know what) just to increase OUR bottom line and try to convince you that you needed it when you really didn’t.
- We’ll treat you right – and we expect the same in return. We believe in treating our clients with respect and dignity. We cannot provide quality service if you can’t trust us or we treat you like you aren’t equals, simply because you may not be internet savvy. At the same time, we expect our clients to give us the same respect in return, treating us with the same respect due to the professionals we are. The best results will come from both of us working together, as a team, understanding our strengths and weaknesses and supporting each other where needed.
Our Target Customers
After much discussion, we have decided to focus our business on a relatively small target audience of businesses in order to avoid spreading ourselves too thin. If you are looking for the types of services that we offer and don’t fall into one of these categories, please feel free to contact us – we have numerous contacts throughout the industry and can certain refer you to someone who would be better suited to your needs.
- Home-based businesses – these businesses are especially handicapped in today’s economy and, in our opinion, often need the most help when it comes to setting up an online presence. Too often they fall prey to unscrupulous vultures who take advantage of them offering all sorts of “pie in the sky” results (especially so-called SEO specialists) only to find out that they’ve paid for absolutely nothing.
- Crafters/Hand-made Artisans – Similar to the Home-based businesses, the individuals are often hobbyists who need to focus on their primary purpose: creating beautiful arts and crafts. Usually they will have the assistance of sites like Etsy.com or ArtFire.com for selling their goods, but need assistance to setup a real business-like appearance for their customers, which can be done very inexpensively – if you know what you are doing.
- Small Businesses (less than 50 employees) – Just like Home-based businesses, small businesses have a distinct disadvantage in today’s world. Typical “brick & mortar” businesses that want to get online especially so, as they are dependent on someone telling them what they do and don’t need, which can lead to huge bills and unnecessary services.
- Non-profit services/Animal Shelters – a subject near and dear to our hearts as the parents of two adopted pets. We love to work with non-profits, especially animal shelters. We have some great deals on services for these groups. We put our money where our mouth is, too. In 2010 we gave over $500 to what we consider to be worthy non-profits, become a member of The Trevor Project‘s Circle of Hope in the process. So far in 2011 we have partnered with AmeriCares® to conduct a Celebrity Charity Auction through our SouthlandTvFans.com website to raise money for their Pacific Earthquake & Tsunami Fund following the devastating earthquake in Japan, raising over $700 through eBay auctions of Southland memorabilia. While that may not sound like much, consider that AmeriCares can stretch every dollar to as much as quadruple in its ultimate effect, when spent through their network for lifesaving materials.
- Entertainers/Actors – Are you an up & coming actor/entertainer or already successful in your career? Do you need a website that reflects this so your fans can get the information they need, and want, about you without spending useless time searching the web for it? We can provide you with an amazing website that meets your exact needs for a very reasonable price. We have worked with some great actors and actresses, so fame does not phase us! We treat all clients the same. After all, we’ve lived in West Hollywood and the LA area since 2002! We also aren’t out to fleece you simply because your name might be recognizable. If you want a great website that shows who you really are and still delivers what your fans want, then talk to us first.
- Independent Movies – Hey, just because you are independent doesn’t mean you have to go cheap (as in poorly executed) when it comes to your website. From first conception to festivals to full scale launch, we will work with you to provide a movie website you can be proud of, as well as help you get the social media exposure you need in today’s world to make your movie a success. Check out our most recent movie website, The Love Patient – its recent launch on DVD sent it to a meteoric rise to #1 on the pre-release best seller list at TLA the week it was announced and it has remained in the Top 10 every week since.
Nondiscrimination Policy
As a California Corporation, Complete Internet Consulting, Inc. operates under the laws of the State of California, therefore we abide by the State’s nondiscrimination policy in all business dealings (although we would anyway, even if not required to by law). We do not discriminate in any business transactions for any reasons including race, creed, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender orientation, sexual orientation or any other difference real or perceived, whether or not that group has a protected status under current law. Additionally, we will not do business with any company that does discriminate against any group for any reason, regardless of the reasons for that group’s decision. In our opinion, refusing to do business with a company that discriminates is not, in itself, discrimination but the sign of a business that believes in ethics and equality.
In deciding whether or not to business with a company, either in taking them on as clients or using them as suppliers, we will not only investigate the company’s own policies but will also look into their history (including past business dealings) and the history of their principal agents including company officers. This may seem extreme to some, but quite honestly, we have been burned in the past. We are also familiar with those who would hide their past in order to save a buck or two, unabashedly misrepresenting themselves in order to save money regardless of the consequences.
What Is InterFuzed?
Let’s face it: Complete Internet Consulting, Inc. is a mouthful! We did a lot of research trying to come up with a good brand name for the business that was short and memorable. Again and again we kept coming back to two things:
1. Our business is primary focused on and related to the Internet, either in development or in training.
2. Our focus in everything we do is people and how they related to that technology in the every day application of their business.
So what do you get when you merge, or fuse, the two together? InterFuzed! The Fusion of People and Technology Through Ethics.
InterFuzed is a registered dba (doing business as) and ™ Trademark of Complete Internet Consulting, Inc., a California Corporation.
About The Founders
Bob Parker
President & CEO
Bob started his career directly out of high school by serving 8 years in the US Navy where he served honorably for 8 years, 5 of them in the US Nuclear Submarine Service. During that time he received one of the highest non-combat medals awarded to Navy enlisted personnel for his work in developing a unique, first of its kind computer network that saved the Navy over $1 million a year in housing costs. Over the course of those 8 years he received extensive training in leadership, management and customer service.
After leaving the Navy in 1993, Bob went to work for an independent telecommunications company where he designed a state of the art computer management system that integrated telephone PBX, voicemail, cable head-end & Interactive Voice response systems and built a complete billing & customer service management system from the ground up that is still in use today on multiple Navy bases in California, Hawaii and Washington. He also designed the first ever PIN-based billing system for a telephone installation that is now the standard for phone systems used in military barracks and college dormitories throughout the United States and elsewhere.
After leaving that company, he moved to another small telecommunications company that was a pioneer in internet based marketing for Long Distance services. Again, he built a complete billing system from the ground up that provided complete call rating, customer service, customer portal with monthly billing, credit card processing, check processing, accounting interfaces, integration with multiple external vendors and much more. During his 7 years with that company and through an acquisition, he moved from a simple software developer to the Chief Technical Officer. During its peak, the company’s billing system (which he designed and built) was processing over $3 million a month in credit card transactions.
During the time from 1993 to 2004, while working at both of those companies, Bob maintained a small presence on the internet doing minor consulting work as a freelance software developer and providing services such as website development and hosting.
In 2004, Bob decided to make the jump into the world of Big Corporate and took a job as a developer at a Fortune 500 Internet Advertising company. After 3 months of being a developer, he was promoted to Development Manager and quickly took on additional responsibilities that included Release Manager, Rapid Response Team, Corporate Compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley) and Project Management. While the job was extremely educational and gave him a lot of experience with very large systems handling handling billions of transactions per day, not to mention making some excellent industry contacts with some very well known Open Source icons, the typical “Good Old Boys” club quickly reared its ugly head and corporate politics soon took over. Evidently, competence and doing your job well doesn’t sit well with executives in big companies, so as soon as it came time for “cost cutting layoffs”, it was “Hasta la vista Bob”.
The result now is Complete Internet Consulting, where he has been successfully providing consulting and contract services to customers since 2008 with a 100% satisfaction rate.
Chris Parker
Vice President & COO
Chris also started his career with a stint in the military, serving 4 years in the Army as a medic. After his honorable discharge, he spent several years working different jobs focusing on Customer Service, including Restaurant Management, Call Center Management, Customer Support, Administrative Support and Business Development.
In addition to various restaurants, Chris has worked for organizations such as the Governor’s office in the State of Indiana and managed the Customer Service operations for the same Long Distance company that Bob worked at between 1997 and 2004. In addition to managing their Customer Service operations, he also organized and built up their Business Sales department and literally wrote the manual used by their dedicated business support specialists. He also spent time teaching computer classes at an Abused Womens’ Shelter to train the women basic computer and Microsoft Office software skills to assist them in preparation for jobs.
Chris’ vast background in all areas of Customer Service operations has made him an expert in all aspects of Customer Support and Call Center efficiency, especially as it relates to bring business into the age of the Internet. In this day and age when business can be made or destroyed by the actions of their front line Customer Service Representatives, his knowledge, skills and training help our clients improve their operations and retain customers as well as improving efficiency that directly affects the bottom line.
